150 Hydro One employees helping to restore power to Floridians

They’ll be working alongside crews from Florida Power and Light to help restore electricity following Hurricane Milton’s visit to the U.S. state

Around 150 Hydro One team members will be spending their Thanksgiving weekend away from their families.

They’ll be working alongside crews from Florida Power and Light to help restore electricity following Hurricane Milton’s visit to the U.S. state.

An additional 50 Hydro One forestry workers were added to the response, joining 100 power line workers in Florida who were redeployed after helping Georgia Power during Hurricane Helene.

“Our highly skilled employees are trained to work on both transmission and distribution systems making them incredibly valuable to other utilities,” said Hydro One in a news release.

“As part of the North Atlantic Mutual Assistance Group, Hydro One has reciprocal agreements in place with North American utilities to provide assistance during significant power outages.”

All costs are covered by the utilities receiving help.
