'A blast': Circus at ODAS Park is 'fun for the whole family' (11 PHOTOS)

Great Benjamins Circus offers 'amazing acts of international quality all while being true to the traditional circus roots,' says performer

A crowd of about 300 people were enthralled Thursday night as The Great Benjamins Circus made its debut at ODAS Park in Severn Township.

“Thursday night was our opening night, and it was a blast not only for the crowd, but for all the performers,” said Eva Rodriguez, a show performer.

The 90-minute show featured acts of all types and featured clowns, acrobats, aerialists, daredevils, and even performers on dirt bikes in cages.

“The show is fun for the whole family,” Rodriguez explained, as she encouraged families to come on out and experience the show for themselves.

The circus and show, which was created by third-generation circus performer John Davenport, along with his brother Jairo, wows crowds and wannabe circus performers all over Canada and the United States.

With performers from North America, South America, Europe and Asia, The Great Benjamins Circus offers "amazing acts of international quality all while being true to the traditional circus roots," said Rodriguez.

The Great Benjamins Circus runs all weekend at ODAS Park (on Fairgrounds Road just outside of Orillia) with eight shows over four days. If you would like to see one of their shows, tickets and information can be found here.
