Check out the sights and sounds of Mariposa (13 photos)

Idyllic weather, huge crowds and great music have marked the opening two days of the 60th anniversary of the Mariposa Folk Festival at Tudhope Park

This weekend marks the 60th anniversary of the Mariposa Folk Festival — the grand dame of music festivals.

For the first time in three decades, the three-day event is sold out as music fans get their folk on after two years of pandemic delays.

The opening two days have been marked with idyllic weather, huge crowds and, as always, fantastic music.

There is lots more on the schedule today. Blue Rodeo will be performing tonight but, for many local fans especially, the highlight will likely come at 8 p.m. when Orillia's own Gordon Lightfoot is inducted into the Mariposa Folk Festival Hall of Fame as part of a main stage ceremony.

We hope you enjoy these images from Saturday.
