Canada’s Wonderland was evacuated Sunday night after a small structure fire broke out and spread within the water park area.
The Splash Works area, which had already been closed to the public at 6 p.m., was cleared as a precaution due to blowing smoke, according to York Regional Police on Twitter at about 11:30 p.m. July 31.
The cause of the fire, which started at about 10:45 p.m. shortly after Canada's Wonderland hosted its Civic Holiday fireworks display, is under investigation.
The amusement park is open today, except for Splash Works.
The blaze was captured on video and posted online by several passersby.
Please be advised Splash Works will be closed today, Aug. 1.
