The Ministry of Natural Resources is looking for whoever is responsible for dumping four dead deer in a ditch in Georgina.
On Nov. 11, conservation officers were told the deer had been shot and dumped in a ditch about a kilometre south of Ravenshoe Road on York Durham Line.
It is believed the deer may have been dumped on the night of Nov. 10. The animals had been field dressed and their antlers were removed, with the meat from each deer left to spoil, the ministry said in a news release.
“The ministry takes this situation very seriously and is looking to identify those responsible.”
Anyone with information is asked to call the ministry tip line at 1-877-847-7667. Information can be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or crimestoppers.ca.
