Maria-Anna Tarantino, of King City, won a $1-million Maxmillions prize in the Aug. 13 Lotto Max draw.

Maria-Anna Tarantino of King City will be sharing her $1-million Maxmillions prize with family and travelling with her grandchildren.

The mother and grandmother said she enjoys playing Lotto Max and typically sticks with the same numbers for each draw. She has won modest prizes over the years, but her numbers now have her celebrating the joy of becoming a millionaire after her big win in the Aug. 13, 2024 Lotto Max draw.

“I was out shopping when I remembered to check my tickets. I had four to check and one ended up being a big winner,” Tarantino recalled, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her windfall. “I was in shock and ran straight home to call my son. I was in a bit of a panic, but once I spoke with him and he assured me it was real, I was thrilled.”

“Winning is a great feeling. I am not only blessed by this prize, but also with an incredible family that supports me,” Tarantino concluded.

The winning ticket was purchased at King Cigar Plus on Yonge Street in Richmond Hill.
