Hypertension has become rampant worldwide among adults over the age of 40, yet there are simple steps that can be taken to reduce the incidence of this silent killer which is the largest epidemic known to mankind.
To help with our local community, Memorial Pharmasave will be participating in World Hypertension Day by conducting a community blood pressure screening on May 17 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

- Canadian stats, including how someone dies from hypertension-related problems every seven minutes and nine out of 10 Canadians will suffer from hypertension during their lifetime.
- Risk factors and why adults over the age of 40 should know and monitor their blood pressure numbers.
- Simple life-saving lifestyle changes that can be made to reduce high blood pressure.
1,000 pharmacies across Canada will participate in a nationwide Blood Pressure Screening & Patient Education initiative on May 17, World Hypertension Day. Canadians are invited to visit their local pharmacy that day to learn more about hypertension prevention and control, and get a complimentary blood pressure reading.
