The Warminster community is celebrating a significant milestone with the successful completion of a new crosswalk featuring traffic lights near the local school.

This essential project, which was the result of strong collaboration and work done between MPP Dunlop, municipal staff and local residents, will ensure greater safety for pedestrians, particularly for students walking to and from school.

The new crosswalk will help improve traffic flow and enhance road safety in Warminster, a growing rural community. The project is particularly important for families and students who depend on this crosswalk to navigate the busy intersection safely each day.

“Our government is proud to support local projects that make a real difference in the lives of residents,” said Jill Dunlop, MPP for Simcoe North. “The completion of this crosswalk is a testament to what can be achieved when the province, municipality, and community members work together. This is about ensuring the safety and well-being of our children, families, and all who call Warminster home.”

Mayor Randy Greenlaw expressed appreciation for the collaboration and work done between MPP Dunlop, Oro-Medonte council, municipal staff, and residents, leading to the success of this project.

“This crosswalk is a result of many voices coming together with a shared vision of a safer community. I want to thank the province, the local residents, and everyone involved for their commitment to this important project. This is a big win for our students and for the future of Warminster.”

The Warminster community can look forward to safer crossings and peace of mind, knowing that the new crosswalk will provide protection for pedestrians of all ages.
