A joint recruitment for volunteer firefighters is on the go for fire departments in the area.
North Simcoe's five fire departments — Tiny, Tay, Midland, Penetanguishene, and Georgian Bay — are actively recruiting new firefighters and will be hosting a pair of information sessions in September ahead of the application deadline later in the month.
The information sessions are scheduled for Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. in the Township of Tiny at 817 County Road 6 South, Wyevale and on Sept. 14 at 9 a.m. in Midland at 550 Bayshore Drive.
No previous firefighting experience is necessary as new hires are fully trained and finish their training with the same certifications as a career firefighter.
The deadline to apply is Sept. 27.
