The Orillia Youth Opportunities Committee, in collaboration with the Simcoe County District School Board and Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, invites you to attend a public forum to discuss options for addressing the issue of youth homelessness in our community.

Come and hear from experts on how other communities use shelter diversion, emergency shelters and transitional housing. Help the Orillia Youth Opportunities Committee determine what recommendations it should make to Orillia City Council on this very important issue.

Be part of the discussion and share your voice as we survey the audience during this exciting and interactive forum. Priority seating will be provided for youth.

When:

Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018

11:45 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Where:

Orillia Secondary School (OSS)

250 Collegiate Dr. (in the cafeteria)

Orillia, ON

Dr. Stephen Gaetz, Professor and Director of the Canadian Observatory on Homelessness, will be the keynote speaker at the forum. Parking is limited at OSS, therefore overflow parking has been kindly offered by Emmanuel Baptist Church, which is a short walking distance from the school.
