The competition was once again fierce at Orillia Public Library’s annual Battle of the Books, where 16 teams comprised of over 150 students from local elementary schools clashed in the legendary literary trivia tournament.

Amidst the dual venues of the library and neighbouring historic opera house, teams showcased their knowledge across a diverse array of literary works and categories. Featuring over 100 questions spanning 100 books, the atmosphere was charged with excitement, anticipation, camaraderie, and a whole lot of fun.

After a day filled with intense rounds of questioning, Rama Central emerged victorious and secured their place as the champions of the 2024 Battle of the Books.

Coming in second place was Regent Park, with Monsignor Lee taking third place. Fourth place went to Guthrie Public School, and fifth place was claimed by Uptergrove Public School.

While Rama Central claimed the top spot this year, each participating school demonstrated commendable knowledge and an excellent enthusiasm for learning. Teams from Coldwater Public School, East Oro Public School, Harriett Todd, Lions Oval, Marchmont, Meadow Creek, Orchard Park, Severn Shores, Shanty Bay, W.R. Best Memorial and Warminster all made their schools proud.
