A capacity crowd was on hand last week when the Legion bingo event returned. Bingo will be held every Wednesday evening; doors open at 5 p.m. and the games start at 7 p.m.

Bingo is back at the local branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. And that is music to the ears of local bingo lovers.

Last week, a capacity crowd enjoyed the games and the new format at the waterfront Legion when the popular past-time finally returned.

After folding Orillia Geneva Bingo Charity back in September, the Legion decided recently to resurrect the popular bingo nights.

“It’s a slightly new format,” said local Legion president Rick Purcell. “Some of the prizes are different and some of the games are different. People like variety.”

The Bingo is held Wednesday nights. Doors open at 5 p.m. and bingo starts at 7 p.m. There is food available on site. Every one is welcome.

Bingo proceeds raised will support eight different youth sports organizations such as Orillia Legion Minor Baseball in addition to community organizations, and community festivals like the Canada Day celebration in Couchiching Beach Park.
