NEWS RELEASE
COUNTY OF SIMCOE
*************************
In honour of the Simcoe County residents who made the ultimate sacrifice during the Second World War (WWII), the county is introducing a unique, historical and special video created through research conducted by the Simcoe County Archives.

In 2018, the county launched our Simcoe County Remembers First World War Honour Roll, the first-ever electronic database featuring the names of Simcoe County residents who participated in WWI.

In advance of Remembrance Day, the county is now introducing our new Simcoe County Remembers Second World War Honour Roll video. The video is the first digital WWII honour roll, containing names of 348 Simcoe County residents who lost their lives in service to our nation between 1939 and 1945.

The video can be viewed by the public online at youtu.be/KNGN2RDmIhQ.

Note: Physical Second World War Honour Roll plaques are on display at the Simcoe County Museum.
