NEWS RELEASE
GATEWAY CASINOS & ENTERTAINMENT
*************************
Gateway Casinos & Entertainment is excited to announce the opening of Match Eatery & Public House at Casino Rama Resort on Feb. 27 at 3 p.m.
Match is a much-loved restaurant chain with locations in British Columbia, Ontario and Alberta, and has become a community favourite in Wasaga Beach, Hanover and North Bay.
This marks the latest addition to Gateway’s growing portfolio of restaurants in Ontario and introduces a modern gastropub experience to one of the province’s premier entertainment destinations.
Match offers an atmosphere where guests can enjoy great food, live entertainment, and the ultimate sports viewing experience. The menu features elevated pub fare with a local and gastro-inspired twist, served in a stylish and family-friendly setting.
High-definition screens throughout the venue provide a premium experience for sports fans, while a large stage can host live music, DJs, and special event entertainment.
The restaurant has a dedicated entrance separate from the casino, making it an ideal destination for families and guests who want to enjoy a delicious meal or a casual drink. The restaurant’s spacious patio will open in late spring, offering a relaxed outdoor dining experience as the weather warms up.
“Match is more than just a restaurant – it’s a place where great food, lively entertainment and community come together,” said Todd Pollock, VP, Food & Beverage at Gateway Casinos & Entertainment.
“From our many house made menu offerings and handcrafted cocktails, to the unique touch points throughout Match, every detail has been carefully considered to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.”
Throughout the restaurant, guests will discover thoughtfully curated pieces inspired by the local region, each adding a unique touch to the ambience. In all corners of the space, the community is celebrated, and wall mural inserts spotlight the seven clans of Rama First Nation. Together, all of these pieces pay tribute to the rich culture of Rama and its surrounding area.
“Whether guests are catching the big game or enjoying live music, Match offers a unique experience for all,” said Olivia Piche, the new pub and eatery's general manager.
“We’re also proud of the restaurant’s design and artistic elements, which celebrate the spirit of the Rama community. From the moment guests walk in, we want them to feel that connection and sense of place.”
To mark the occasion, Casino Rama Resort employees have chosen the Health Services Division of Rama First Nation, Mental Health and Addiction Support Services as the official charity partner for the grand opening of Match.
To support their vital work, a portion of all food and beverage sales from Match’s first month of operation will be donated to help provide essential mental health and addiction support for individuals in the surrounding community. This initiative reflects Gateway’s commitment to giving back and supporting those on their mental health and substance use journey.
Match is giving Ontario residents the chance to win a Legend Boats 14 ProSport LS fishing boat. The boat will be showcased inside Casino Rama Resort throughout the contest period, running from March 1 to 31. The draw date is April 1.
Entries can be made at any Ontario Match location or online at myclubeatanddrink.com, giving guests an exciting opportunity to take home the ultimate fishing adventure.
