SIMCOE COUNTY DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD

Each year, the Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) offers a variety of summer programs to over 2,000 students. Registration is now open for the SCDSB’s 2018 summer school courses.
Summer school credit courses are available this July through eLearning and in face-to-face classes. Face-to-face courses are focused on mathematics, while eLearning offerings include Grade 10 Civics and Careers, as well as Grade 11 and 12 college and university preparation courses.
All face-to-face courses are held at the Barrie Learning Centre, July 3-27 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Limited school bus transportation is provided from all areas of Simcoe County.
“Summer school is an opportunity for students to accumulate credits in a flexible environment outside of the regular school year,” says Tammy Rodaro, Vice-principal of Adult and Continuing Education. “Students should register early to ensure that their summer school options align with course selection for next year.”
Summer school program details can be found on the Learning Centres website. Students can also get information from their school or from any of the SCDSB’s Learning Centres.
Current SCDSB secondary students can register through their guidance counsellor. Current SCDSB Grade 8 students, non-SCDSB students and adult learners can register using a paper form, available on the Learning Centres website.
