ORILLIA CHANNEL CATS SWIM CLUB

The Orillia Channel Cats Swim Club recently had swimmers compete at Ontario Youth Junior Championships and Ontario Summer Festivals.

Swimmers posted numerous personal best times and set 13 new long-course club records.

At the Ontario Youth Junior Championships, Adair Wieclawek placed 10th overall in the 50-metre freestyle and went a personal best in the 100-metre freestyle. Anna Holton competed in the 100-metre butterfly and 100-metre freestyle and was just shy of beating her entry times.

At Ontario Summer Festivals swimmers who placed in the top 10 include Jace Black (bronze medal in the 10-and-under male 200-metre backstroke, and fifth in the 100-metre freestyle), Anna Crawley Blauel (eighth in the 10-and-under female 50-metre freestyle) and Harrison Levene (ninth in the 12-year-old male 800-metre freestyle.

Congratulations to all swimmers who competed: Adair Wieclawek, Anna Holton, Harrison Levene, Isabella Brown, Riley Shore, Sophie Shivers, Ava Fairgrieve, Jace Black, Brady Bell, Everett Dorevich, Trenton Shepherd, Hartley Russell, Anna Crawley-Blauel and Cheyanne Hawrysio.
