The McLean and Dickey Orillia Jr. C Terriers had only one game last week after the weekend's wicked winter storm cancelled their home game slated for Saturday night.
Prior to Old Man Winter's arrival, the Terriers travelled to Alliston Friday night and fell 5-1 to their rival in Provincial Junior Hockey League action.
Alliston, which has yet to lose this year, would score two goals in both the first and second period to take a commanding 4-0 lead into the third period.
Each team would score in the third period to make the final 5-1 for Alliston. Terriers captain Dylan Palomaki, from Lleyton McLean and Evan Feltis, tallied the Terriers' lone goal of the night. Aidan Jerry was in net and took the loss, facing 42 shots .
The Terriers next see action Thursday in Stayner against the Siskins in a battle for second place. Currently, the Terriers are in third place with a 16-3-1 record, just one point behind Stayner, which has played one more game this season. Alliston remains in top spot in the Carruthers Division with a 19-0-0 record.
The Terriers return home to face the Spartans from Innisfil on Saturday night. Game time is 7:30 p.m. at Rotary Place
Orillia is hosting what it's calling a Minor Hockey weekend Dec. 21-22. And local minor hockey player — from Orillia, Coldwater or Oro — wearing their team jersey will be admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult.
In addition, on Dec. 22, the Terriers are hosting a Christmas food drive. Anyone who brings a non-perishable food item for The Sharing Place Food Centre will be entered in to a draw for prizes. The more donations, the better the chance to win a prize.
Please come, enjoy some great hockey and help out a good cause.
