ORILLIA LADY KINGS

On Monday night, the Orillia Lady Kings house-league program was sweatin’ it without the oldies.
The Little Lady Kings kept their cool with water balloons and by scoring goals. BMO Nesbitt Burns faced off against Tatham Engineering in a tight match with BMO winning 11-10. Goal scorers for BMO included Liv Davis leading her team with four goals, Addison Higginson, Clair Collins and Logan Dowling with two goals each and Maeve Morris with one. Tatham engineering didn’t collapse at all, with hat tricks by Zoey Robinson, Claire Boles and Briar Smith, while Rylee Murphy added a single.
Kutting Edge played The Kitchen Shop and no one was chopped. Monroe MacIntosh led the way with five goals, while Keelynn Houle and Sydney Kennedy each scored a pair of goals for Kutting Edge.
In U9 action, Whelan North came out flying like the Snowbirds over Barrie this week in their 2-1 win over 2nd Century Source for Sports. Winning goals were scored by Isla Falmino and Norah Belviso, while Norah Whelan and Olivia Hopkins could have an academy of their own on how to make great assists.
Millwood Logistics shipped out a big 4-1 win over Speedy Glass. Baylee Barker led the win with three goals, while Kyp Thompson had a goal and an assist and Lydia Branham and Ophelia Collins also helped with assists. Anna Hunter answered back with a goal for Speedy Glass on an assist from Amelia Silk.
The U11s made their fans swelter in their tight matches.
Tryon Construction showed great teamwork in their 3-1 win over Champlain Ready Mix. Alexa Pellarin, Addison Caldwell and Isabella Beaudin each scored a goal, while Laurie Belcourt, Rebekah Lacroix, Pellarin and Caldwell marked assists. Brielle Hodkinson-Armstrong scored the lone goal for Champlain Ready Mix on an assist from Abigail Davison.
Brewery Bay served up a 3-2 win that was just as good as their deep-fried pickles in their game against Mid Ontario Disposal. Goal scorers for Brewery Bay were Isabelle Ouellet-Darling with two and Kayla Beard with one. Mid Ontario answered back with an amazing game by Ruby McParland, who scored a big goal. Violet Whelan looked like she had been learning from varsity athletes with the second big goal for Mid Ontario while Delilah Lafraugh had a helper.
In U13 and U15 game action, the Stoutts and Strachan and Morris teamed up to battle it out in a 4-2 win over Mariposa Landscaping and Atmosphere Electric. Molly Bergeron showed great teamwork by stepping in to help goaltend, while Kyah Thompson was great in net for the green/orange team.
The U9 Speedy Glass team were surprised with freezies this week from their wonderful team sponsors at Speedy Glass. The girls were delighted with the cool treat.
Championship games will be played next Monday at the West Orillia Sports Complex.
