Lots of high-scoring affairs in recent Orillia Lady Kings play

Champlain Ready Mix dumps Mid Ontario Disposal 9-0, while Kutting Edge takes 18-11 win over BMO Nesbitt Burns

Monday night proved that some things are worth waiting for and the combination of lacrosse and sunshine was just that.

The Orillia Lady Kings house-league program enjoyed games without rain this week.

The U13/U15 teams played hard with Strachan and Morris coming out on top of the Stoutts team in a 6-3 win. Goal scorers for the winning team included Katie Bunting with two and singles by the dynamic duo of Chelsea Currie and Eiley Hayes. Olive Bomberry and Chloe Crittenden also scored big goals while Rayne Noganosh played well in net making great clears and big saves. The Stoutts team responded with goals by Sienna Cryer, Billie Rouse and Zoey Gauthier, assisted by Charlotte Hultslander, Elyse Faulkner and Samantha Harper. 

Mariposa Landscaping put in a team effort to spark their close win over Atmosphere Electric. Winning goals were scored by Ellie Lynch (two), Morgan Parnell (two), Kaelyn Drennan (two), Daulie Coutts (two), and Leughton Mainer (one). Assists were marked by Aria Dykstra (two) and Arianna Pellarin (two). Atmosphere goals were scored by Anna Fagan with a hat trick, Alexanra Fagan (two), Chloe Weiler (two) and Jana Ball (one). Mara McKinney and Ella Sage both marked assists. Goaltending was outstanding by Mara McKinney and Alex keeping Atmosphere Electric close in the game.

In U11 games, Champlain Ready Mix came ready to play all right in their lopsided 9-0 victory over Mid Ontario Disposal. Although Arabella Edwards was amazing picking up loose balls, it wasn’t quite enough to shut down Champlain Ready Mix. Goals scorers for the winning team were Brielle Hodgkinson-Armstrong (three), Mikayla Grelowski (three), and Yvonne Lee (three). Abigail Davison also marked an assist.

Brewery Bay served up a hard-fought 5-4 win over Tryon Construction. Isabelle Ouellette-Darling and Kayla Beard each scored two, while Abigail Harrington scored a single and Cara Georgas marked an assist for the winning team. Tryon construction went down swinging with two goals by Isabella Beaudin and singles by Alexa Pellarin and Lauren Bomberry.

The U9 teams battled hard to close-fought games. Whelan North was just buzzing around getting things done for the 2-0 win over Speedy Glass. Goals were scored by Isla Flamino and Olivia Hopkins with two assists by Zoey Beaudin.

Millwood Logistics shipped out a big 5-3 win over 2nd Century Source for Sports. Winning goals were scored by Baylee Barker and Lydia Branham with two each, and Ophelia Collins with a single. Assists were marked by Emily Young and Luna Cranstoun. The 2nd Century goal scorers were Maeve Runk with two and Olivia Maciejewski with a single. Fiona McKinney was amazing on defence.

Our Little Lady Kings U7 program worked hard on all aspects of their game. The Kitchen Shop pink team baked up a high-scoring 20-11 win over Tatham Engineering. Winning goals were scored by Evelyn McDonald (five), Gracie Fess (five), Mia Mahoney (four), Lucy Gammon (two), Mackenzie D'Souza (two) and Quinn Laughlin (two). Tatham goals were scored by Briar Smith (four), Lydia Hoover (three), Rylee Murphy (two) and Clair Boles (two).

In other high-scoring action, the U7 Kutting Edge team had all the right swag to win 18-11 over BMO Nesbitt Burns. Goal scorers for the winning team included Brinley Hopkins (six), Monroe MacIntosh (five), Blake Bomberry (three), Sydney Kennedy (two), Keelynn Houle (one) and Vera Quinn with one goal and an outstanding game with great hustle and terrific defensive play.

The Lady Kings will be ready for more fun next Monday.
