ORILLIA CHANNEL CATS SWIM CLUB

Two members of the Orillia Channel Cats Swim Club recently competed at the Ontario Swimming Championships in Toronto.
Swimmers must meet the qualifying standard in order to attend.
Sam Pecorella, 14, raced in the 100-metre backstroke, 100-metre freestyle and 200-metre backstroke.
Pecorella qualified for the Canadian Swimming Championships in the 100- and 200-metre backstroke, and won silver in the 200-metre backstroke and was fifth in the 100-metre backstroke. He also set a new club record in the 200-metre backstroke (2:15.80).
Alumni Cats swimmer Blythe Wieclawek also represented the Cats at the meet. Wieclawek won bronze in the 100-metre backstroke, was sixth in 50-metre freestyle and 100-metre butterfly.
Both swimmers are preparing for the upcoming Canadian Swimming Championships being held later this month in Toronto.
Cats swim in final meet of regular season
The Orillia Channel Cats Swim Club attended the last meet of the regular season in Collingwood.
The meet is a two-day event filled with additional team-building activities.
Saturday offered a cardboard boat race, and Sunday, the lip sync contest. Swimmers are able to race in a super fun environment, and bond as a team.
The local club had 49 swimmers attend, from junior novice up to the gold level. Swimmers who participated include Sophia Lee, Maelle Mooney, Max Mooney, Carmen Conroy, Caden Stuart, Lilly Edgerton, Emma Edgerton, Cooper Chrysler, Aurora Koehn, Harrison Levene, Emony Fisher, Grace Hunter, Leah Guller, William Guller, Elvin Lee, Josie Hare, Riley Shore, Owen Shore, Nash Allen, Ralph Woegerer, Toby Woegerer, Ava Fairgrieve, Hunter Fairgrieve, Rydaar Watt, Peyton Pendlebury, Georgia Cameron, Margot Cameron, Bennett Sibley, Harrison Sibley, Isabella Brown, Sophia Brown, Dario Rotar, Mateo Rotar, Maya Favaro, Olivia Favaro, Harrison Dorevich, Everett Dorevich, Christopher Dorevich, Evangeline Cooke, Simone Smith, Ayan Rau, Zoe LeBoeuf, Boyd Brown, Katie Heckendorn, Cohen Greer, Jace Black and Kael Cresanto.
