On Jan. 18, the Orillia Hawks and the North Bay Jr. Lakers faced off in Gravenhurst, delivering an intense matchup that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
The Hawks’ goalie, Olivia Weaver, was the star of the game, making key saves to keep the Lakers off the scoreboard. Despite both teams battling hard, neither was able to find the back of the net, resulting in a scoreless draw. Each team walked away with a point in this tightly contested game.
On Jan. 19, the Orillia Hawks travelled to North York to face off against the North York Storm and delivered a dominant performance on the ice. The Hawks set the tone early in the first period, when centreman Molly Mee capitalized on a pass from Jorgia Kitcher to open the scoring. Soon after, Kitcher and Mee teamed up again, this time assisting Ellie Lynch for the second goal of the period. The momentum continued as Isabella Cheslock found the back of the net with help from Kallie Yakeley and Ellie Lynch.
In the third period, Kaydence Thompson sealed the victory, slipping one past the goalie with an assist from Cheslock. The Hawks’ goalie, Sawyer Seberry, stood strong between the pipes, securing the shutout in an impressive 4-0 win.
