Orillia kickboxers land five provincial titles at Toronto tourney

Black Lotus was awarded the most competitive club award at the tournament as one of the top teams, showing its dominance in the sport

Black Lotus Kickboxing and Muay Thai Academy earned the coveted "most competitive club" award after its athletes won five provincial titles at the recent the WAKO Provincial Kickboxing Championships held at the Japanese Cultural Centre in Toronto Dec. 13 to 15.

The Orillia club fielded a team of nine athletes. Some new competitors entered the ring for the first time along with some experienced athletes. Five athletes fought to claim the title of provincial champions and three more landed bronze medals.

Black Lotus was also awarded the most competitive club award at the tournament as one of the superior teams, showing its dominance in the sport and outstanding competitive spirit.
