The Wes Brennan Construction Junior Royals finished their regular season in Innisfil Monday night with a 6-0 win.

Emmit McDonald had a great start on the mound, pitching five innings and only giving up two hits and zero runs. Gabe Rutherford pitched the last two innings to secure the shutout save. The Royals again went error free with many great defensive plays in the game.

Offensively, the Royals saw Teddy McCollum-Kuntz single home Andrew Browne in the first inning. The Royals were stymied until the fifth, when Jhett Winkel singled home Nathan Molloy and Nolan Ness-Thomas to take a 3-0 lead. The Royals added three insurance runs in the final inning, when J. Winkel singled home Marshall Perkin and Kobe Geofroy while he himself was later cashed in by Browne.

Orillia finished the season with a 13-win and five-loss record, which was good for second place and a bye in the first round of the playoffs and a berth in the provincial championship tournament in August.

Orillia will await the winner of Barrie Baycats and the Orangeville Bengals in the second round.
