Orillia Terriers' captain Dylan Palomaki led his team with two goals in a narrow 4-3 win over Penetang. Orillia hosts rival Alliston Saturday night at Rotary Place.

The McLean and Dickey Orillia Terriers had only one game last week and skated to a 4-3 victory over the Penetang Kings in Provincial Junior Hockey League action at Rotary Place Saturday night.

Penetang opened the scoring halfway through the first period, but  the Terriers responded on the power play with Dylan Palomaki scoring to even things up; the first period ended in a 1-1 tie.

Josh Presley scored early in the second period to give the Terriers a 2-1 lead and it stayed that way until the last minute when Palomaki and Colton Dumond scored quick markers to lift the home side to a 4-1 advantage after 40 minutes.

The third period would see Penetang score two goals to make for an exciting finish, with the Terriers hanging on for the win as they improved to 7-1-1 on the season.

Palomaki, the team’s captain, paced the offence with two goals while Josh Presley and Dumond netted single markers.

Aidan Jerry made 37 saves in net to pick up the win. Landon Simec of the Kings made 46 saves and had a strong game in net to keep his team in the game.

The Terriers have two games this week: a home date at Rotary Place on Saturday against rival Alliston; the Hornets (7-0-0) are the only team to have beaten Orillia in regulation time this year. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

On Sunday, the Terriers travel to Innisfil (5-6-0) for an afternoon contest against the Spartans at 3:30 p.m.
