Two people, including a five-year-old, were killed and one was injured after a single ATV accident yesterday evening near Emsdale, south of Burk's Falls.
OPP say on Sunday, July 23 at 6:50 p.m., a call came in about a single all-terrain vehicle accident involving three people on Stewart's Road.
A 42-year-old person was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 5-year-old was airlifted to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.
A 9-year-old was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say all three were on the ATV at the same time, and are related. The family is from Holland Landing north of Newmarket.
The Crime Unit and Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team are assisting with the investigation.
Currently the investigation is ongoing under the direction of the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
The Almaguin Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, Muskoka Paramedic Service, Parry Sound District Emergency Medical Service and the Perry Fire Department also responded.
