There is a "significant police presence" near Orillia's downtown this evening.
A part of Colborne Street has been closed to traffic for an ongoing incident in a second-floor apartment of a home between Albert and Wyandotte streets.
Police are asking people to avoid the area.
On social media, there were reports that a woman threatened police with a hammer before barricading herself in the apartment.
Orillia OPP has not responded to a request for comment. No other information was available as of 9 p.m.
