Four charged after drugs found during vehicle stop: OPP

Police seized more than $7,000 worth of cocaine Thursday

Police seized drugs and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop Thursday in Penetanguishene.

Four people are facing drug charges following a traffic stop Thursday night in Penetanguishene.

At about 9:10 p.m., police pulled over a Dodge Ram pickup truck on Main Street. Investigators noticed “several large chunks of a substance appearing to be that of suspected cocaine,” as well as drug paraphernalia and open liquor, Southern Georgian Bay OPP said in a news release.

The estimated street value of the cocaine is more than $7,000.

Thomas Stoll, 22, of Penetanguishene, has been charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine) and having liquor in an open container in an unauthorized place.

Dylan Caston, 20, of Hillsdale, has been charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), driving while under suspension, driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor and driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available.

Abigail Gailbraith, 20, of Tiny Township, has been charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine).

Darren Ellery, 31, of Midland, has been charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), obstructing a peace officer and consuming liquor in an unauthorized place.

Stoll, Caston and Gailbraith were released from custody and are set to appear in court Aug. 8. Ellery was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
