Man found dead at Bayfield Street/Highway 400 exit: OPP

Despite the death of 41-year-old man, police say 'there is no risk to public safety'; few details have been released

A 41-year-old man was found dead Friday afternoon near Bayfield Street and Highway 11, police said Sunday.

"There is no risk to public safety,” said Acting Sergeant Nicola Morris of the OPP Highway Safety Division, who said the investigation continues. “Further details will be provided when available.”

Aurora OPP and the OPP Highway Safety Division said Saturday morning there was “a death investigation” underway in Barrie, at Bayfield Street and the westbound ramp to Highway 400 south. 

Police have not said exactly when the man’s body was found, but there was a police presence in the area late Friday afternoon.
