Two double homicides that took place in Kirkland Lake last year have been linked to one suspect.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigators have linked the four homicides to 38-year-old Martyn (Marty) Rosko of Kirkland Lake.
“The suspect has since died and cannot be charged criminally. Had the suspect been alive, compelling grounds exist to charge and prosecute him with murder charges for the four victims,” police said in a news release Tuesday (July 30).
On July 30, 2023, around 4:30 p.m., Kirkland Lake OPP responded to a medical call at a Woods Street residence.
The victims, 37-year-old Amanda Lachapelle and 49-year-old Gabriel Marecki, both of Kirkland Lake, were brought to the hospital by ambulance, where both were pronounced dead.
On Aug. 8, Kirkland Lake OPP found two bodies during a well-being check at a Kirkpatrick Street residence. The victims were identified as 33-year-old Lea Thompson and 37-year-old Kyle Robertson, both of Kirkland Lake.
