A pickup truck was involved in a two-vehicle collision at Division Road and Burnside Line this afternoon.

A gravel truck and pick up truck collided near the Division Road and Burnside Line intersection late Wednesday afternoon.

Though the gravel truck was driving away as OrilliaMatters arrived on scene, a blue pickup truck remained on site with significant damage to its front end.

In September, a nearby resident raised concerns about frequent collisions at the intersection — suggesting additional signage, or other measures, need to be implemented to make it safer.

At the time, the resident told OrilliaMatters he’d seen five collisions at the intersection so far this year, and data from Severn Township’s 2023 transportation master plan indicates there were 13 collisions at the intersection between 2017 and 2021.

The Orillia OPP did not immediately respond to requests for comment on this story.
