A Barrie resident has been charged with stunt driving after provincial police say their vehicle was clocked at 154 kilometres per hour in an 80-km/h zone this morning in New Tecumseth.

Nottawasaga OPP says an officer, who was conducting speed enforcement in the Alliston area, stopped the vehicle on Highway 89 shortly before 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 21.

Rajveer Singh, 20, of Barrie, has been charged with stunt driving/excessive speed and speeding 50-plus kilometres per hour over the limit

The driver received a 30-day licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

None of the allegations have been tested in court.

"Drivers and members of the public are reminded to respect our communities, comply with all laws and not jeopardize the safety of our citizens or our neighbourhoods with risky, illegal and dangerous actions," police stated in a news release.
