One person has been arrested and another is being sought by police after a reported assault with a weapon Monday in Wasaga Beach.
Shortly after 6 p.m., police responded to a residence where two people were assaulted with a pellet gun, Huronia West OPP stated in a news release. The victims suffered minor injuries.
A 31-year-old Wasaga Beach man was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon (two counts), careless use of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, disguise with intent, failing to comply with a probation order (three counts), using a firearm while committing an offence (two counts), mischief under $5,000 (two counts), possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order (two counts), possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, robbery using a firearm (two counts) and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm (two counts).
The accused was held for a bail hearing scheduled to take place Tuesday in Barrie court.
Police are searching for a second suspect.
They believe this was an isolated incident and say there is no concern for public safety.
