Man forced to hand over his shirt in bizarre Coldwater robbery

The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is currently investigating a robbery in the Township of Severn, Village of Coldwater. 

Officers believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety. Police are seeking the assistance of the public in identifying the suspect.

On April 29, 2019, shortly after 12:30 p.m. the Orillia OPP responded to a call of a robbery which had just occurred. The victim and his friend were walking in the downtown area near the intersection of Coldwater Road and Sturgeon Bay Road. 

The investigation revealed that a suspect exited a pickup truck and approached the victim. The suspect immediately demanded the victim take off his shirt and hand it over to the suspect. 

After a brief argument the victim complied with the suspect. The suspect then assaulted the victim, walked back to his vehicle and fled in a north-east direction out of town.

The suspect was described as an older white male, 200 - 220 pounds, 5'6" to 5'7", grey short hair, scar on face, unshaven, wearing greyish blue jeans and a long sleeve black shirt. A photo of the suspect is above.

The suspect vehicle was described as an older model black four-door pickup truck, possibly a Chevrolet or GMC.
