North York driver facing impaired charges following Highway 11 stop

A driver from the Toronto area is facing a pair of impaired driving charges after a traffic stop Saturday evening on Highway 11.

Around 9 p.m., an officer with the Ontario Provincial Police's Orillia detachment was patrolling Highway 11 northbound at Menoke Beach Rd and conducted a traffic stop.

Police say that while  the officer was speaking with the driver, an impaired investigation began.

As a result of the investigation, Parth Vora, 26, from North York has been charged with:

  • CC 320.14(1)(a) adult operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • CC 320.14 (1)(b) adult operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days, and vehicle impounded for seven days as well.
