Man charged with impaired driving after Oro-Medonte crash

Three passengers in the other vehicle were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries

A Barrie resident is facing multiple charges, including impaired driving, after a two-vehicle crash in Oro-Medonte.

Ontario Provincial Police were called to Forbes Road and Old Barrie Road at around 6 p.m. Saturday.

Three passengers in one of the vehicles were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries

Witnesses told arriving officers that the driver of the other vehicle left the scene on foot.

A canine unit helped track down a suspect around 1.5 km away from the collision.

Ryan O'Hara, 27, of Barrie has been charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired
  • Operation while Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus) 
  • Fail to Remain 
  • Careless Driving 
  • Fail to Surrender Licence 
  • Fail to Surrender Insurance 

In addition, their driver's licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
