A person has been killed after a small plane crashed in Ramara Township, according to media reports.
Orillia OPP Const. Ted Dongelmans told OrilliaMatters emergency crews responded Monday afternoon to the report of a plane crash on Lake Simcoe, about a kilometre west of Lagoon City.
He said one person was in the plane. He couldn’t confirm whether the person died, but CTV News Barrie has reported it was fatal and attributed that information to a Ramara fire official.
OrilliaMatters is waiting to hear from the Ramara Fire Department.
Dongelmans said paramedics, police and firefighters responded to the scene. The Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre also sent a helicopter and plane to the area.
More information will be posted when it becomes available.
