A 38-year-old Orillia man has been arrested and charged with child-pornography offences by Barrie police.
On June 20, the Barrie Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit, with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Internet Child Exploitation Unit, arrested and charged the man after a lengthy investigation. He faces two counts of possession of child pornography, according to police.
The man's name was not released.
Barrie police say officers executed the search warrant at the Orillia residence and seized numerous computer devices, along with child sex dolls and child-pornography books.
The man was held for bail and later released to his surety with several conditions and a future court date.
Police say the investigation also included forensic analysis of computer devices that were seized from the residence. As a result of the forensics obtained from the devices, on Sept. 17, the man was further charged with accessing child pornography.
