An Orillia man is facing multiple charges after a "disturbance" Thursday night in Brechin.

Police say the man allegedly assaulted and threatened an individual at a home in Brechin. Police were called about the incident and told the impaired man was leaving the residence in his vehicle.

"Shortly after, officers located the vehicle and suspect on Highway 12 near Muley Point Road," says a media release from the Orillia OPP. "Officers quickly determined the driver was impaired, placing him under arrest."

Warren Todd, 50, of Orillia has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drug
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Assault
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Two counts of mischief over $5,000

Todd is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia in April of 2025 to answer to the charges.

As a result of these charges, Todd's driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle will be impounded for seven days.
