Orillia OPP charges 14 in first three weeks of Festive RIDE campaign

Drivers face combined 54 charges since campaign began Nov. 21

Fourteen people have been charged by Orillia OPP with impaired-related and other offences in the first three weeks of the Festive RIDE campaign.

The campaign began Nov. 21 at about midnight and runs until Jan. 1.

The 14 people charged face a combined 54 impaired- and driving-related offences, and 14 vehicles have been impounded, Orillia OPP said in a news release. All of those charged with impaired driving were issued 90-day licence suspensions and seven-day vehicle impoundments.

“Remember that any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements,” police said.
