The annual Festive RIDE campaign was launched last week, and Orillia OPP has already charged five people with impaired-related offences.
The charges were laid between Nov. 22 and 25.
John Strybosch, 60, of London, was charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and operation while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus).
John Burleigh, 62, of Wasaga Beach, was charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and operation while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus).
Ka Chung Kwok, 43, of Orillia, was charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and operation while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus).
Meghan Kranert, 32, of Parry Sound, was charged with operation while impaired by alcohol or drug.
Andrew Trottier, 29, of Barrie, was charged with operation while impaired by alcohol, operation while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus) and driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available.
