An Oro-Medonte man has been charged after police say he was driving while impaired and in possession of a machete-style knife Wednesday in Orillia.
At about 11:50 p.m., officers were on patrol on Front Street and conducted a traffic stop after a vehicle failed to “maintain its lane,” Orillia OPP said in a news release, adding drug paraphernalia and a 13.5-inch machete-style knife were found under the driver’s seat.
Tyler MacIsaac, 33, has been charged with operation while impaired (alcohol and drugs), possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and two counts of failure to comply with a probation order.
The accused has a court date in Orillia in December. He was issued a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
