Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run involving a transport truck and a pedestrian early Wednesday morning in Springwater Township.
At about 2:40 a.m., Huronia West OPP received a report from paramedics of a deceased male at the side of Highway 26, between Carson Road and Hanmer Road, near the northernedge of Barrie. The transport truck was not there when police arrived.
The driver of the transport truck was identified and located. Police say the investigation is ongoing, and more information will be released when it is available.
The road was closed between Carson Road and Hanmer Road until 11 a.m. for the investigation.
