A Penetanguishene man was taken to a Toronto trauma hospital after a crash in Tiny Township last night.
The Ontario Provincial Police responded to the crash on Rue Lafontaine at 10:08 p.m., arriving on scene eight minutes later.
Simcoe County Paramedics and Tiny Township Fire also responded to the scene, which was near Concession Road 16.
Police say the vehicle was going northbound when it left the roadway and hit a tree.
The 34-year-old driver was taken from the vehicle by firefighters and treated initially at the scene by paramedics, who then took him to Georgian Bay General Hospital before the man was taken to Toronto for treatment of "life-altering" injuries.
A 21-year-old woman who was a passenger in the vehicle was also treated for injuries sustained in the crash before being released from hospital.
Members of the the Central Region Traffic Investigations unit also responded to the secene and helped officers with the crash, which closed Rue Lafontaine and disrupted traffic in the area of the 16th Concession Road until 4:00 a.m. for investigation and scene clean up.
