Update
An officer was among two people who sustained minor injuries following a traffic stop Wednesday on Barrie Road.
Shortly after 11:30 a.m., Orillia OPP officers conducted a traffic stop that led to a criminal investigation. During the stop, an officer and another person sustained minor injuries after an altercation, police said in a news release.
Police have not elaborated on the nature of the investigation or whether any charges have been laid.
Barrie Road has since been reopened.

A significant police presence can be found this afternoon on Barrie Road in Orillia, where at least four cruisers are stationed between Memorial Avenue and Albert Street.
Authorities have taped off the area and are rerouting pedestrians and motorists away from the scene.
At this time, there is no official word on the nature of the OPP operation, but Gilles Doiron, the Orillia OPP community mobilization unit's acting sergeant, says there is no threat to public safety.
Police have not yet provided an official statement, but we will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
