A snowmobiler out for an early morning ride Wednesday suffered collar-bone and lower-leg injuries after colliding with a tree in Oro-Medonte.

Oro-Medonte fire crews and Simcoe County paramedics were called to the local snowmobile trail near Line 4 North and Ingram Road shortly after 6:30 a.m. on Feb. 12, confirmed fire chief Roree Payment.

“When crews arrived, they were met by a bystander who was summoned to the area via a phone call from the injured person,” Payment said.

Fire crews, along with county paramedics, were able to locate and assess the patient and determine his injuries before he was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.

“They were removed from the trail system and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” added Payment.
