NEWS RELEASE
SOUTHERN GEORGIAN BAY OPP
*************************
Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to remind motorists to lock their vehicles when they park them!

With the warmer weather of spring in the air officers have been responding to a number of reports from vehicle owners who are now victims of failing to lock their vehicles.

Victims are now missing; cell phones, GPS units, tools, coin, lottery tickets and vehicle key sets to name a few items and more importantly wallets and vehicle ownerships and insurance slips. Losing these pieces of identification can possibly make the vehicle owner a victim of identity theft and numerous other identity and financial type crimes.

Officers urge you to take a moment and lock your vehicle before you leave it parked whether it is at home, at the mall or at work. The loss of your property may only be the beginning.
