A Midland resident is facing multiple charges after a 911 call on Thursday afternoon.
Shortly after 3 p.m., officers with the Southern Georgian Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to the call after a citizen reported being confronted by an individual with an edged weapon who also had the callers wallet on Borsa Lane locally.
The suspect was located by the responding officer on Bourgeois Lane and attempted to arrested the individual.
Police say the suspect bit the officer and was subdued by assisting officers, who found an edged weapon on the individual. Police also say that property belonging to the victim that was taken from their parked vehicle was also found nearby.
Robyn Patricia Copegog, 33, has been charged with:
- robbery with a weapon
- assault with a weapon
- possession property obtained by crime under $5,000 - in Canada
- resist peace officer
- possession of an identity document
- possession of a credit card
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court to face the charges on Nov. 14.
