Tip from public leads to impaired, drug charges for area man

The 46-year-old was charged with possession of opioids and cocaine, say OPP

A man faces impaired driving and drug charges after a concerned citizen called police about the well-being of a driver in Bracebridge on Saturday evening.

Bracebridge OPP responded to the area of Pine Street shortly after 10 p.m. and arrested 46-year-old Jason Cheetham.

Cheetham is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 4 and stands charged with:
    •    Operation while Impaired - Drug CC 320.14(1)(a)
    •    Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Opioid CDSA 4(1)
    •    Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Cocaine CDSA 4(1)

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Cheetham is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
