Two men face charges after high-end items stolen from vehicles

One faces mischief and possession of property obtained by crime charges while the other has been charged with trespassing

GRAVENHURST - Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers have received several complaints regarding unlocked vehicles being entered throughout the nighttime hours.

On Saturday Aug. 15, 2020 several victims in the town of Gravenhurst called police as several high valued items were stolen from inside vehicles including electronic devices and cash. Officers were able to track the devices to an address on Peter Street and recovered some of the items.

Police have charged 30-year-old Randy Shanks of Gravenhurst with possession of property obtained by crime CC 354(1)(a) x2 and mischief CC 430(1)(c) and he will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Oct. 20, 2020 to answer to his charges.

Furthermore, another person provided video footage from their home of an individual trying to enter a vehicle parked in their driveway at 3:00 a.m. Police were able to identify that person and have charged 35-year-old Steven Gliddon of Huntsville, ON with trespassing at night CC 177. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Oct. 20, 2020 to answer to his charge.
