Two people escape Angus trailer fire unscathed, but dog dies: chief

Emergency crews responded to Brentwood Road trailer park shortly before noon Friday

ESSA TWP. — Two people escaped without any serious injuries after a house trailer went up in flames today in Angus, but a dog perished in the blaze.

Emergency crews received the call at 11:46 a.m. on Jan. 10  for a trailer engulfed in flames at 62 Brentwood Rd.

Two people were home at the time and no injuries were reported, according to Nottawasaga OPP.

Deputy Fire Chief Gary McNamara later said a dog had died in the fire.

Police said the cause of the blaze is still being investigated, but does not appear suspicious.

Crews extinguished the fire at 1:13 p.m, but remain on-scene to monitor for any flare-ups.

Police said Brentwood Road at Scotch Pine Crescent was not closed to traffic as the fire was contained inside the trailer park, although people were evacuated from the area.
